Melbourne to Coonabarrabran

After turning back once to turn the pilot light off we finally left at 9:30am. The dvd player is a godsend, it kept them happy and cheerful pretty much all the way. It was a pretty straight forward drive with no major issues. Just before we stopped for lunch, we came across a truck that had tipped on its side and continued down the road, it was full of sugar and the white trail led all the way up the road.. The driver looked to be unhurt, but it would of been damn scary to be in. We had lunch in goondawindi, (where I made use of the free macdonalds wifi) and filled up with petrol (only $1-05ltr). We finally got back on the road and again had a clear run (aside from the half hour we had to stop and I taught my daughter how girls ‘go’ in the bush when there arn’t any toilets around), and arrived at Coonabarabran without any problems. We stayed at a hotel there for the night and left the next morning refreshed and ready for another day of driving….

  1. Stunning photos as always Shay, in particular, the windmill & flowers – just gorgeous!

Can’t wait to see the rest when you get home.
